The older waiter perfectly understands and feels identified with the customer, due to the fact that at his age, there is a feeling of loneliness in which it is very important and comforting to find <em>A Clean, Well-Lighted Place. </em>After the cafe closes, he does not want to go home running like the young guy because there he knows, he will find an empty space and and his insomnia is also waiting.
