Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

2x^2 + 3x =9

when equation like a * (x^2)+ b*x  + c =0

solution like;

x= (-b +sqrt(b^2 - 4ac))/2a

and

x= (-b - sqrt(b^2 - 4ac))/2a

Now consider 2x^2 + 3x -9 =0

so a=2, b=3, c= (-9)

Let first consider  x= (-b + sqrt(b^2 - 4ac))/2a;

x= (-b + sqrt(b^2 - 4ac))/2a

x= ( -3  + sqrt( 3^2 - 4*2*(-9)) )/2 *2

  = 6/4

  = 1.5

Let second consider  x= (-b - sqrt(b^2 - 4ac))/2a;

x= (-b - sqrt(b^2 - 4ac))/2a

x= ( -3  - sqrt( 3^2 - 4*2*(-9)) )/2 *2

  = -12/4

  = -3

How is 15/45 equivalent to 45/135
crimeas [40]
45/135 can be simplified to 15/45 by dividing both the numerator and denominator by 3. To get from one fraction the next you multiplied them both by 3. 15 x 3 =45 45 x 3= 135

Two sailboats had a race. Sailboat A traveled 40 feet every 5 seconds, and sailboat B traveled 56 feet every 8 seconds. Which sa
Novosadov [1.4K]

Answer:

Sailboat A won the race, and it was going 8 feet per second.

Step-by-step explanation:

Sailboat A was traveling at 40 feet per every 5 seconds, so, to find how many feet it was going per second, we would do 40 feet/5 seconds, which is 8 feet.

Sailboat B was traveling at 56 feet per every 8 seconds, so we use the same method. 56 feet/8 seconds is 7 feet.

So, Sailboat A won because it was going faster! :)

The length of a photograph of Mr. Lemley playing golf is 1475 inches. If the area
Mice21 [21]

Answer:

1.12 × 10^-3

Step-by-step explanation:

The computation of the width of the photograph is as follows:

As we know that

Area of the rectangle = length × width

33 ÷ 20 square inches = 1475 inches × width

So, the width is

= Length ÷ area

=  1475 inches ÷ (33 ÷ 20 square inches)

= 1.12 × 10^-3
