1. Based on your knowledge of how the greenhouse effect works, why does the level of carbon dioxide affect the global temperatur
vova2212 [387]

Answer:

1. Earth's temperature is maintained by re radiated infra red radiation by green green house gases and slightly by water vapors in atmosphere. These gases prevent heat from escaping to outer space, so are functionally comparable to glass panel of green house. Thus, this heating effect is referred to as green house effect. Carbon dioxide is a green house gas so increased amount of this gas in the atmosphere will result in increased atmospheric temperature and global warming.

2. Three sources of atmospheric carbon dioxide are:

 • Volcanic eruption
 • Respiration by plants and animals
 • Decomposition of organic substance.

Explanation:

 • Overall rise in temperature of the Earth due to excessive amount of green house gases in atmosphere that trap heat radiating from Earth's surface is called Global warming.
 • Global warming can cause melting of ice caps, alteration of seasons, destruction of forest and increase in deserts.
 • Green house gases include carbon dioxide, methane, ozone, nitrous oxide, and nitrogen dioxide etc.
 • Among all these gases Carbon dioxide is the major component that is responsible for global warming.
 • Carbon dioxide is added to the atmosphere by burning of fossil fuels, volcanic eruption and respiration. But Burning of fossil fuels itself adds about 18 X 10¹² tonnes of CO₂ anually.
 • Global warming has become a major environmental concern now and needs to be controlled immediately.

Describe the muscle feature that is being used in each naming scenario. for example, you have probably figured out that trapeziu
maw [93]

1.Gluteus maximus and Gluteus minimus

This muscles are classified by their size. Maximus means the largest of the group, which is correct because the others are small and medium sized). Gluteus minimus is the smallest of the group.

2.Frontalis and Temporalis

The frontalis and the temporalis muscles are classified by their location. Frontalis is front of the frontal bone of the skull; It serves for facial expressions, raising eybrows.

Temporalis is located on top of the temporal bone of the skull; Is able to move the tmandible.

3. Orbicularis Oculi and Transverse abdominis:

These muscles are far away from each other but they were named based on the same feature: the direction of fibers.

Orbicularis is because their fibers form a circle.
Transverse because crosses or 'traverses' the abdomen

4.Flexor Carpi Ulnaris and Extensor digitorum longus

These muscles are classified by what they do- their action.

Flexor carpi ulnaris flexes the hand at the wrist while the extensor digitorium longus extends the foot and toes upward.

5. Sternocleidomastoid and Brachioradialis

These muscles are named based on their origin and insertion.

Sternocleidomastoid has two origins, one in the sternum and the other in the collare bone (clavicle). It's insertions is in the mastoid process of the temporal bone.

Brachioradialis has an origin on the brachium of the humerus and it's insertion is on the radius.

6. Biceps Brachii and Triceps Brachii

These muscles, with opposite functions, are named based on their number of origins.

Biceps brachii has two origins on the scapula that join to form a single muscle which is attached to the forearm

Triceps brachii has three origins on the humerus and joint to form one single muscle that attaches to the ulna.

Biological classification is important because it allows scientists to study organisms in a ___ way
puteri [66]

Answer:

Systematic.

Explanation:

Biological classification is important because it allows scientists to study organisms in a systematic way.

In Science, this biological classification of living organisms based on similarities or characteristics such as eyes, number of legs, etc., is generally referred to as taxonomy.

Taxonomy can be defined as the process of naming, classification and description of living organisms such as plants and animals. The eight (8) biological classification (taxonomy) used for grouping and organizing organisms are; kingdom, domain, phylum, family, order, class, species and genus.

Hence, taxonomy helps scientist to have a good understanding and knowledge when studying various organisms.
