If the vertex of a parabola is (0, 3), what is the axis of symmetry
GREYUIT [131]

Answer:

The equation of the axis of symmetry for this parabola is x = 0.

Step-by-step explanation:

For parabola's, it's axis of symmetry always goes through the vertex of the parabola. In other words, the axis of symmetry is vertical line that goes through the x-coordinate of the vertex.

Now, the vertex is given as (0,3) which is at x = 0, y = 3.

Thus, the vertical line that goes through the x-coordinate of the vertex will be x = 0

Thus, the equation of the axis of symmetry for this parabola is x = 0.

You roll a six-sided die twice. What is the probability of rolling a 3 and then a 5? A) 1 3 B) 1 6 C) 1 12 D) 1 36
Molodets [167]

Answer:

D) 1/36

Step-by-step explanation:

You are trying to roll a 3 the first time, and then a 5 the second time. This means that order matters.

It is given to you, that you are rolling a standard die (6-sides). The dice is ordered in the following: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6

The first time, you are rolling for a 3. Note that there is only one 3 in the sequence, so your chance of rolling a 3 is 1 out of 6: 1/6.

The second time, you are rolling for a 5. Note that there is only one 5 in the sequence, so your chance of rolling a 5 is 1 out of 6: 1/6.

Next, multiply the two fractions together to find the probability of rolling a 3 and then a 5:

1/6 x 1/6 = (1 x 1)/(6 x 6) = 1/36

D) 1/36 is your answer.

Find the surface area of the cylinder give your answer in terms of pi. The radius is 4mm and the height is 5mm
Komok [63]
The surface area of a cylinder is the area of the bases plus the area of the side, or SA = 2*A₁ + A₂

Since the area of a circle is \pi r^{2},
SA = 2*(\pi r^{2}) + A₂

Since the area of the side is height * the circumference of the circle or A₂ = h * 2 \pi r, then SA must be;

SA = 2* \pi (r ^{2} )+h*2 \pi r
SA = 2* \pi (4 ^{2} )+5*2 \pi (4)
SA = 32* \pi+80 \pi
SA ≈ 351.858377202

How do you solve this?
slavikrds [6]

Answer: To solve these types of questions what I always do is get a protractor if you have one and put it up against to where the dot is in the middle of the empty hole and then get a ruler or a pencil and make the line keep going to see what angle. In this case your answer is 65% I think.
