Today, there are an estimated 16 million refugees in the world. Major refugee populations include Palestinians, Afghans, Iraqis,

Somalis, Congolese, Sudanese and Myanmarese. From 2012-2015, roughly 120,000 Rohingya refugees fled their country by boat. The Rohingya are Muslims living mainly in Myanmar (formerly Burma). They face continued discrimination and violence due to their ethnicity. Myanmar denies the Rohingya Muslims citizenship, freedom to travel and education. Many neighboring countries, including Thailand and Malaysia, have turned these refugees away fearing overcrowding and social issues. In May 2015, thousands of Rohingya refugees were stranded at sea as a result.

xxMikexx [17]
Churchill is best known as the greatest states man of the 20th century. He was a man that thought he could charm anyone. He led Great Britain through its finest hour. Everyone just agreed with him because they didnt want to face his punishment. Did you know Obama had a grand father named Hussein Onyango Obama who was imprisoned without trial for 2 years and was tortured on churchills watch. Describe some of the major problems that the country of Rwanda faced after the genocide.
crimeas [40]

Answer:

It has been difficult for Rwandans to recover from the genocide because of the brutality of the violence and how difficult it is to forgive neighbors who acted against the Tutsi minority.

Explanation:

The genocide in Rwanda began in April 1994 and neighbors began to turn on neighbors and unspeakable levels of violent acts were carried out. The U.N. estimates that 800,000 Rwandans died at the hands of other citizens in a state-led genocide against the Tutsi ethnic group. Afterward, the recovery has been difficult given how the violence was orchestrated within actual communities and among neighbors, not just at the level of an army or militia. Therefore, NGOs that have worked on the reconciliation process developed models to help with psychological healing, where they encouraged Rwandans to participate in programs where they shared intense memories and were taught some tools to handle the painful emotions they were experiencing. Gacaca for example is a community court system that government authorities and NGOs are promoting as a means that is traditionally familiar to help rebuild the social fabric of Rwandan society. Survivors can learn the truth about what happened to their loved ones and the guilty can confess what they did and hope for some level of forgiveness.

The social loafing effect suggests that there is Select one: a. a direct relationship between group size and individual motivati
omeli [17]

Answer:

b. an inverse relationship between group size and individual motivation

Explanation:

In psychology, the term social loafing refers to the phenomenon that occurs when a person exerts less effort when he/she is being part of a group than when he/she works alone. This phenomenon also states that the bigger the groups the less effort the members of the group put into achieving the goals of the group.

Therefore, we can say that b. there is an inverse relationship between the groups size and individual motivation, since the BIGGER the group, the LESS motivation members of the group have.

Distinguish between necessary sufficient and contributory causes of abnormal behavior.
Tanya [424]

Answer:

In the framework of modern psychology, abnormal behavior, or a disorder in other words, occurs as a result of different types of causes:

 • Necessary cause refers to the cause that is necessary for the development of abnormal behavior. Without the presence of such cause, it would not develop. Meanwhile, the cause may occur but outcome is not going to develop from it. Let us take the example of occupational burnout syndrome. It can occur only if the cause of continuous work-related stress is present. Meanwhile, not every individual exposed to continuous work-related stress will develop this syndrome.
 • If sufficient cause is present, individual will always develop abnormal behavior. It is a bulletproof cause that has only one outcome. For example, severe accumulated sleep deprivation will always lead to fatigue, drowsiness and impaired cognition. All truck drivers who are constantly sleep deprived ultimately experience these conditions, which can lead to serious motor vehicle injuries.
 • Contributory cause in its turn contributes to the development of abnormal behavior. It does not cause it directly, nor serves as necessary basis for its development. For example, cannabis consumption have been linked to the greater chance of developing schizophrenia among those individual who already belong to the risk group (people with respective heredity).
