What set of written laws was Rome’s first, and applied to both the rich and the poor?

Twelve tables

Explanation:

  • All Roman law was formally based on the Law of the Twelve Tables.
  • The Law of Twelve Tables was a rather primitive collection.
  • Nevertheless, it contained a large number of regulations that formed the basis of the entire Roman legal system.
  • This law has never been amended, nor has any regulations been deleted, but it has been formally valid throughout Roman history.
  • This, of course, does not mean that the law was perfect. Far from it, but the enterprising Romans simply went over some outdated regulations or adapted them to a changed reality.
  • Since they were of great tradition, they never took the courage to abolish or change it. They regarded it as divine law, taught it by heart in schools, and regarded it as the primary source of all law.

Marizza181 [45]
They weren't a good thing in the trenches in world war 1. They were the casue of trench fever, which plagued the troops with headaches, fevers and muscle pain. They would also get into clothes and cause the soldiers to itch constantly. They definitely aren't a good thing.

If you could choose between living in medieval Europe as a serf, knight, lord/noble or specifically as King Charlemagne, which w
ziro4ka [17]

From these social classes of Medieval Europe, I consider the best is the lord/noble.

During the Middle Ages, European society was organized into different social classes. The main social classes included:

  • The King and Queen.
  • The lord/nobles.
  • The knights.
  • The serfs.

This social structure implied the king and queen had more power but also more responsibility in society. On the opposite, the serfs had less power but were not responsible for big decisions or social aspects.

Based on this, the best social position will be the one of lord/nobles because:

  • They were not responsible for all the nation.
  • They had power over other social levels including the serfs.
  • They did not have to risk their lives to protect the king as it happened to the knights.
  • They still had multiple benefits such as control over lands, access to carriages, horses, etc.
