Well, the official language of a country can give away the language that was brought to the country by its colonizers. So, a country that speaks English was likely colonized by the British. A country who speaks French was likely colonized by the French. A country that speaks French and British likely had itself fought over by the French and British.
The advantages of the adversarial system are that it protects the rights of individuals and the presumption of innocence, serves to protect citizens from potential abuses of government, and works to check bias in the courtroom setting.
