Answer:
basically the Monroe doctrine declared that America was in opposition of European interference in the Americas.
Explanation:
the Monroe doctrine was definitely driven by American nationalism and this doctrine had big impacts on how the war ran its course, it probably actually would have caused the union(American government) to lose the war, but the south was looking for help from European countries and they tried making agreements that slave trade would continue in the Americas if the south defeated the north, this was big motivation for European countries to help and was a very dangerous thing to the north because they essentially would have had to fight on two fronts, so this caused the growth of the tension to rapidly increase. At least from what my text book tells me.
Being questioned is the answer
the simple fact of the matter is that there is strength in numbers.
The more that you divide based on your beliefs the weaker that you are.
A great example would be the election of 1844, when Henry Clay (remember him- he is one of the most important people to know in US history) ran against James K. Polk for the presidency.
Polk barely won, mostly because he managed to get NY's electoral votes. He won by about 5k votes. The liberty party, which was closer in political views to Clay's Whig party than to Polk's democrat party, got about 15k votes. If they had not run their candidate there is a good chance that Henry Clay would have been president, and while he was not exactly aligned with their views, he was still closer than Polk.
Essentially, people would rather have someone that they agree with on most issues than someone that they disagree with on most issues, so they are willing to compromise and thus the USA has the two party system.
Hope this helps
Answer:
D. Leaders do not have the right to oppress their people .
Explanation:
Which ideas do we find here?
First, the idea of popular sovereignty. Those who rule must have the consent of those who are ruled. The people are the sovereign, not an absolute ruler.
Secondly, the idea of limited government as a way to avoid tyranny.
Thirdly, the natural right of men to freedom. Opression goes against the nature of man, because men are born equal and freedom was given to them by God.
