  • 'Around' in the second sentence is functioning as an adverb because it modifies the verb 'ran' and provides information about where the action took place.
  • 'At Night' in the third sentence is a prepositional phrase as it consists of a preposition plus its object(night) and function as the adverb in the sentence.
  • 'Disgruntled' in the fourth sentence functions as an adjective as it qualifies the noun 'engineers' in the sentence.
  • 'Along the river bank' is also functioning as a prepositional phrase which is acting as an adverb to modify the verb 'strolled.'

State at least one barriers in communication. How can you overcome thisbarrier?
vampirchik [111]
One barrier in communication is being deaf (hard of hearing). This can cause many difficulties in communication due to people not hearing you. Although to overcome this barrier we can learn ASL (American sign language) to speak to each other in another language using our hands.
This is just an example but the main focus is dead and ASL to overcome hope this helps :)

Why did McCarthy target the Hollywood Film industry?
bonufazy [111]
I don’t know if this is true? Or falsev or I don’t know ⬇️

Since everyone was scared of communism, Hollywood started making blacklists of people who weren't allowed to participate in movie making because it was feared that they would use the movies as a medium for spreading their ideological beliefs.

Blacklisting in Hollywood happened in the late 1930's but wasn't until 1947 that hearings were held to investigate Communism in Hollywood. Yes McCarthyism and blacklisting in Hollywood could happen again.
