Explain how this experiment showed that gene flow was not the cause of antibiotic resistance.
Alenkinab [10]

Answer:

Due to no transfer of resistance allele.

Explanation:

The gene flow was not the cause of antibiotic resistance because the characteristics can't be transferred from one generation to the next generation. The organisms are evolved to become an antibiotic resistance due to their environmental conditions and this resistance quality is only present in the existing population and the alleles that are responsible for this resistance can't be transferred from the bacteria to the next generation so the experiment showed that gene flow was not the cause of antibiotic resistance

Explain the water problems encountered by cells in a
vovikov84 [41]

Answer:

The plant cell becomes turgid

Explanation; freshwater contains a low amount of salt concentration .when cells are placed in it,it creates an osmotic difference, as the cytoplasm of the cell would be of higher concentration than the surrounding water .as a result, water moves into the cell by osmosis.

Most Unicellular organisms has organelles such as contractile vacuole to expel excess water out of it's cell.if the animal cell is unable to expel water,it bursts.

In plants cells, the cell swells and the swelling is checked by the inflexible and rigid cell wall.

The cell wall of plants are made of cellulose, lignin and pectin.

Which phase occurs directly after s phase
katrin [286]

Full question:

Which phase occurs directly after s phase...

A. G1

B.G2

C. Cytokinesis

D.M phase

The phase that occurs directly after s phase is G2 phase.

Explanation:

The Synthesis phase is termed as S phase. This phase in the cell cycle occurs between two phases namely G1 and G2.It is the place where the replication of DNA takes place. This phase will make the DNA to chromosome and this is highly regulated. This phase is an important phase in the cell cycle as the replication of DNA occurs in this phase.

Apart from the replication of chromosomes, the growth of the cell that starts in the G1 phase will be continued with this phase. Thus when the replication of DNA is full done, then S phase will be completed and it proceeds to the G2 phase.
