GCF is the greatest number that distributes the three kinds of tiles at the same time, because this will let Marco to use the least number of each tile and so he will be capable to form the maximum number of stones. To find the greatest common factor you have to decompose each number in the prime factors and multiply only the common factors each raised to its lower exponent.For example: 45, 90, and 75 are the given:45 = 3^2*5
90 = 2*3^2*5
75 = 3*5^2
The common factors with their minimum exponents are: 3 and 5, the product would be 15. Thus the maximum number of stones is 15. By multiplying the GCF times the sum of tiles in each stone, he will find out how many tiles of each type he has in total.

ΔΑΒC Δ EDS
What is the value of x?
Bas_tet [7]

Answer:

The value of x is 11 and CE = 40 and AC = 60

Step-by-step explanation:

Δ ΑΒC ≅ Δ EDS, therefore we have that:

24 / 36 = 3x + 7 / 6x - 6

Solving for x,

24 * (6x -6) = 36 * (3x + 7)

144x - 144 = 108x + 252

144x - 108x = 252 + 144

36x = 396

x = 396/36

x = 11 ⇒ 3x + 7 = 33 + 7 = 40; ⇒ 6x - 6 = 66 - 6 = 60

The value of x is 11 and CE = 40 and AC = 60

5x +6y = 20 (1)
slega [8]
(2) + (2)

=> 8x - 6y = -46 ———(3)

(1) + (3)

=> 5x + 6y + (8x - 6y) = 20 - 46

=> 13x + (6-6)y = -26

=> 13x + 0y = -26

=> 13x = -26

=> x = -26/13

=> x = -2

=> 5(-2) + 6y = 20

=> 6y = 20 + 10

=> 6y = 30

=> y = 5

x = -2, y = 5 => C

Complete the equation to represent finding x, the greater integer.

x(x – ) = 143
mart [117]

Answer:

x would equal -11 or 13

Step-by-step Explanation:

x(x - 2) - 143 = 0

x^2 - 2x - 143 = 0

-2x + x^2 = 143

-143 + (-2x) + x^2 = 0

(x - 13)(x + 11)

x - 13 = 0

Add 13 to both sides

x = 13

x + 11 = 0

Subtract 11 from both sides

x = -11

Shannon and Kelly spent $135 on gift certificates for their friends during the holidays. If this amount is 5/7 their total spend
Katena32 [7]

Answer:

$189

Step-by-step explanation:

Let their total amount of spending money be x

given that $135 they spent is 5/7 of their total spending money,

mathematically:

135 = (5/7) x     (multiply both sides by 7)

135 (7) = 5x

945 = 5x

5x = 945  (divide both sides by 5)

x = 945 / 5

x = 189
