The major purpose of an aqueduct was to deliver water to the people in the towns. ... The introduction of an aqueduct also made it possible to build Roman baths complexes and other water consuming amenities like ornamental fountains. Aqueducts became an expression of power and wealth of a city.

The major purpose of an aqueduct was to deliver water to the people in the towns. In the days before the aqueducts water was furnished by a local stream and/or wells. Sometimes rain water was collected in underground reservoirs (the so called cisterns). But streams and rivers got polluted, wells dried up because of too frequent use, and rain-water was not enough to lessen the thirst of everyone. So, if you wanted to be elected in the town council, you made a financial contribution to the construction of an aqueduct. It underlined the private wealth of the citizens and in this manner also contributed to the status of the city involved. Meaning it Influenced canals in America and transportation of water for crops.

Which statements describe Classical Greek architecture
MrRissso [65]

The correct answer is columns that swell in the middle and taper at the top ; symmetry and balance

Greek architecture developed from the 8th century BC, being inspired by Ionian, Doric and Corinthian styles. In large Greek buildings, the most used materials were stones, marble, wood and limestone. At that time, the structures already had great engineering, symmetry and the use of calculations and mathematical proportions.

In Greek architecture, temples stand out, usually places where diverse celebrations (civil events, sporting events, etc.) and worship of the gods took place, of which the Acropolis and the Parthenon of Athens, in the Greek capital, stand out. For the Greeks, the gods inhabited the temples. In addition to Greek temples, squares and theaters were erected.

It is important to note that Greek architecture was mainly of a public character, that is, public buildings and / or buildings were made to contemplate various events (political, social, economic, religious). In turn, the rooms were simple and lacking in refinement.

please answer this question with a detailed response and please dont plagiarise (Manifest Destiny) :)
inysia [295]
Manifest destiny is the belief that the united states had to stretch from Coast to coast. The belief is what caused the westward expansion. Many Indians were kicked off of their land due to the settlers migrating into their lands. many Americans were receptive to the idea of the Manifest Destiny and believed it was their 'divine obligation' to extend the lands of the United States of America.

Booker T. Washington and W.E.B. Du Bois: Who had the right strategy for black American?
GREYUIT [131]

Booker T Washington wanted African American citizens to move up in society to prove themselves worthy to have the same rights as everyone. As demeaning as this already is, it was a good strategy, but it would take a while. web Dubois wanted African American citizens to actively fight discrimination. He wanted them to stand up for their rights immediatly. This tactic worked so overall, Web DuBois had the better strategy as his tactics were used to create rights for African Americans in the United States. We see this in the civil rights movements in the 1900s where black Americans such as MLK put their voice out to share their concern about discrimination. in conclusion, Web DuBois had the better strategy.
