A man named the Once-Ler leaves home in search of a place to create his buisness making a item called a "Thneed". Once he finds his dream destination, he sets up his new home and gets to work. When he cuts down his first tree, the lorax comes out of the sky. He demands the Once-Ler to stop. Soon enough, the Once-Ler is cutting down trees at a high rate. The creatures watch their home being destroyed. As the Once-ler expands his buisness, his factories get bigger, which starts to pollute the water. The air becomes thin and hard to breathe because of the lack of trees to create oxygen. The creatures are forced to leave and when all the Truffula trees are gone, the Once-Ler goes out of business. He regrets his decisions for years and years. He lives alone where the truffula trees and creatures used to rome. Until one day a boy named Ted comes along and the Once-Ler gives him the last truffula seed...
