A carpenter is making a wooden window frame that has a width of 1 inch. How much wood does the carpenter need to build the frame
romanna [79]

Diagram attached

Answer:

5.5+106 square inches

Step-by-step explanation:

The wooden frame has different shapes- semi circle, rectangles  and we would have to calculate area of all the shapes to get the wood required.

To get area of the circle, we use the formula π(R²-r²)/2. Subtract the inner radius from the outer radius =

π(6²-5²)/2= 11π/2

=5.5π square inches

We add area of the semi circle to area of the 3 rectangles from the diagram:

2×1×48×10×1=106 square inches

The rectangle with 10 inches is because we subtracted one inch from both sides of the 12 inches rectangle to avoid repetition and overvaluing the area

Total area =5.5π +106 square inches

Options must have ommitted the "π"

Question in attachment
a_sh-v [17]

Answer:

Option B.

Step-by-step explanation:

Continuous probability distribution : A probability distribution is called a continuous probability distribution, if its random variable X is a continuous variable and it can take infinite values (Real values).

Number of boxes cannot be a decimal value. So, it is not a continuous variable. Thus, option A is incorrect.

Temperature of a day is a continuous variable. So, temperature of a day can be represented using a continuous probability distribution. So, option B is correct.

Marks in a test paper cannot  represent a continuous variable. Thus, option C is incorrect.

Number of students who uses the internet cannot be a fractional or decimal value. So, it is not a continuous variable. Thus, option D is incorrect.

Therefore, the correct option is B.

What are the answers to these? im doing piecewise functions?
anastassius [24]
I think this is correct. I’m not for sure but I did a lot of work. You put g(2) in linear standard which is practically alphabetical order in which numbers go before letters. You do this for both question. So both go to 2(g) and 5(g). Then you multiply g by the number and get 2(2) and 5(5). Then multiply the two numbers and get 2(2)=4 and 5(5)=25.

Hope this helped ya!

How do I find the answer
Talja [164]
When you divide exponents, you just subtract them. the answer to this equation is a^2 (a squared). This is because 8-6 = 2. Conversely, if you were multiplying two terms with exponents you would add the exponents together. For example: a^3 * a^2 = a^5, because 3 + 2 = 5
