Why are ecological pyramids shaped as pyramids?
Sonja [21]
Ecological pyramids are drawn where predators are above prey and they show the population number of each organism shown. Therefore, as the pyramid rises, the population number of the organism decreases, ultimately resulting in a roughly pyramidal shape. Since, organisms higher up the food chain tend to be less numerous than those at the preceding trophic levels, the pyramid is often the classic pyramidal shape. The difference in numbers of organisms at different levels can be so great that logarithmic scales have to be used.

Hunter-Best [27]

For Anna’s case, my preliminary idea of the species of bacteria responsible for Anna’s infection is a Gram-negative bacterium as observed in gross examination of the colony. With this, my idea has not changed since the last activity for the bacteria was rod-shaped when we view it through a microscope and the color of the colonies was pink after we Gram stained it, which indicate that it is Gram-negative.

What would happen to the carrying capacity and bear population if there were an
Alina [70]

It will result in growth overshoot of bear and the population will exceeds the habitat's carrying capacity.

The fishes serves as food for bears in the food chain of the ecosystem (river). The abundance of fish means there is more and enough food for bears, which in turns enhance their growth and reproduction (exponential phase).

However, bears population will continue to increase (overpopulation) and the carrying capacity (i.e., the amount of resources an habitat can provide for its inhabitants) is depleted. Thus, competition, predation, disease outbreak and others, would set in, resulting to loss of species and habitat in the long run.
