In simple words, The Interstate Highway Act of 1956 was another important piece of cold-war law for South Carolina. While one of the main goals of the act was to ensure that armed forces could travel easily around the country, the Interstate Highway Act had a much larger impact on South Carolina Hence, it is clearly evident that south Carolina was given priority over other states.
