The confrontation started with small insults between Edward Garrik (local) and the soldiers John Goldfinch and Private White. It wasn't until White hit Garrik that the real confrontation started. As a result, 5 men were killed during the fight and March 5 of 1770 was remembered as the Boston Massacre.
