Incomplete question. The full question read;

A certain process for manufacturing integrated circuits has been in use for a period of time, and it is known that 12% of the circuits it produces are defective. A new process that is supposed to reduce the proportion of defectives is being tested. In a simple random sample of 100 circuits produced by the new process, 12 were defective.

a. One of the engineers suggests that the test proves that the new process is no better than the old process since the proportion of defectives in the sample is the same. Is this conclusion justified? Explain.

b. Assume that there had been only 11 defective circuits in the sample of 100. Would this have proven that the new process is better? Explain.

c. Which outcome represents stronger evidence that the new process is better: finding 11 defective circuits in the sample, or finding 2 defective circuits in the sample?

Answer:

1. No.

2. No.

3. finding 2 defective circuits in the sample.

Step-by-step explanation:

1. This does not prove that the new process is not better than the previous since we can this was just a random sample of 100 circuits that led to that discovery, not the entire circuits produced.

2. Even there had been only 11 defective circuits in the sample of 100, it still does not necessarily guarantee or prove the new process is better, since the actual percentage of defectives may be greater in another larger sample over 100.

3. By having just two defective circuits in the sample it would more clearly show that the new process is better.

How do you complete solving two step equations
Gekata [30.6K]

Answer:

Here's a two step equation for example: 4.8y - 6.9 = 3.18

Step-by-step explanation:

How I solve it is using: Sadmep.

wth is that?

Well, it's pemdas backwards. You use this version for solving 2 step equations. But pemdas, not a two step equation.

But, how to solve it: Sadmep..S stands for subtraction...do I see it? Yes! So we are going to do inverse operations..what's the inverse of subtraction..Addition! So you are going to put an addition sign right under the subtraction, and put 6.9..now what you do to one side, you have to do to the other. So add 6.9 to 3.18. Now once you did that, you have to add, but you can't add the 6.9 and the 6.9, you have to cross it out, but you HAVE to hadd 3.18 and 6.9..so do that. So for right now your answer should be: 4.8y = 10.08...let's finish solving! Now since there are two unlike terms, when it comes down to literally this, you have to divide each side by the number with the variable. So: 4.8y divided by 4.8...and 10.08 divided by 4.8.. now remember what I said..4.8y divided by 4.8 are alike so you have to cross it out. But you HAVE to divide 10.08 by 4.8. And once you do that..:::: y = 2.1 ....see? easy and simple!

Y=2x y=-1/2x+5 system of equations
dalvyx [7]

Answer:

x=2, y=4 (as a point,) (2, 4) (last part is unnecessary unless you are graphing)

Step-by-step explanation:

Use substitution.

Substitute y for 2x.

Since y=2x, you can plug 2x into the place where y goes...

Instead of y=-1/2x+5

2x=-1/2x+5....Now solve

2.5x=5 (Sorry my computer cannot type fractions very clearly)

/2.5 /2.5 (dividing by 2.5 on both sides)

x=2

Now just plug x into any of the equations to find y (preferably the easier one).

y=2x becomes

y=2*(2)

=4

y=4
