Does anyone know how to do thesubstitution method?
Angelina_Jolie [31]

Hi!

<h3>How do we use the substitution method?</h3>

To solve using the substitution method, we first want to isolate any of the variables from one of two equations, and then you take the value of that and plug it into the other equation.

<h3>Given:</h3><h3>y=4x-10</h3>

y=-3x+4

<h3>Step One:</h3>

Normally, our step one would be to pick a variable and isolate it, but it looks like we already have the y-value in both equations isolated! So our step one is already done!

<h3>Step Two:</h3>

Plug the isolated variable into the other equation.

We will use the value of y in the first one, and plug it into the second.

The value of y is "4x - 10", so we will change "y" in the second equation to "4x - 10", like so:

4x-10=-3x+4

<h3>Step Three:</h3>

Algebra!

You should be familiar with how to solve equations.

So:

4x-10=-3x+4

Add 10 to both sides:

4x=-3x+14

Add 3x to both sides:

7x=14

Divide both sides by 7:

x=2

<h3>The last step!</h3>

Now, take the x value and plug it into one of the other equations and solve for y.

y=4(2)-10

y=8-10

y=-2

Therefore, our answer is (2, -2).

Answer:

<em>(0, 2)</em>

Step-by-step explanation:

Function is the relation where each value of "x" has single value of "y"

The table contains pair (0, - 2) if table would include (0, 2) the relation in table would be not a function.

For these questions find the probability of drawing the given cards at random from a standard 52-card deck under each condition:
never [62]

Answer:

2

a) 6.37%

b) 6.25%

3

a) 0.60 %

b) 0.59 %

Step-by-step explanation:

2 )

a) With replacement

Probability of extracting a club is 13/52

Probability of extracting a spade is 13/51

13/52 * 13/51

= 6.37 %

b) Without replacement

13/52 * 13/52

= 6.25 %

3) With replacement

Probability of extracting a ace is 4/52

Probability of extracting a queen is 4/51

4/52 * 4/51

= 0.60 %

b) Without replacement

4/52 * 4/52

= 0.59 %
