The answer is A because Darwin made several collections, drawings and studies of the many species of Galapagos Island finches. Darwin observed that the birds had very different diets, probably to avoid competing for food resources.

A possible explanation for what darwin observed was the birds had beaks that were adapted for feeding differently. Why he was studying the birds beaks that have been adapted for different food was because he noticed that there were birds that may have came from the same ancestor but they all had different characteristics and he soon realized it was becasue they all were adapted for each island the bird was at.<span />
