Answer:

1. I think that the word Usurpation means the illegal seizure of the rightful property of another person. It also applies most times, to the forceful seizure of a position of authority.

2. This negative view of King George III made the new form of government determined not to tow the same path. The new form of government allowed people freedom and rightful ownership of their properties.

Explanation:

Thomas Jefferson in the Declaration of Independence noted that King George III of Britain illegally seized power and property from the colonists in America. He went ahead to list several acts of illegalities perpetrated by him, some of which include 'sending swarms of his military officers to harass the people in the colonies and eat from their sweat.'

There were several unjust taxes that were levied on the people. The new government was determined not to follow the same path as the British government because it was a democratic dispensation where rulers were not allowed to illegally seize power and where the people were granted freedom.

Pls help.

Select all that apply. The colonial boundaries:
ankoles [38]

The colonial boundaries created countries where they did not exist, separated tribal groups in many cases, and often brought

Between 1881 and 1911, the entire African continent (with few exceptions) was conquered by seven European countries. The indigenous peoples found themselves integrated into the political and economic structures created by the European colonizers, finding themselves subjected to them.

The elites of indigenous peoples (such as tribal leaders) enjoyed some advantages, such as some social positions, but Africans were generally excluded from political decisions. Finally, colonialism led to an impoverishment also in cultural terms, as well as an impossibility of political independence of the territory.

Describe John Lewis's view on America, then determine if it is strange for someone like him who experienced what he experienced
77julia77 [94]

Answer:

What to the Slave Is the Fourth of July?” That’s the revelatory title of a speech that black statesman and abolitionist Frederick Douglass delivered July 5, 1852, in Rochester, N.Y.

It is an oration that students should learn along with the history of how the Continental Congress, meeting July 2, 1776, in Philadelphia, declared independence from Britain and then on July 4 approved the document stating the reasons for the action.

Five things you think you know about July 4 that are (mostly) wrong

Douglass delivered the speech in Corinthian Hall to white members of the Rochester Ladies’ Anti-Slavery Society. He expressed respect for the country’s Founding Fathers, calling them “brave” and “truly great.” He compared the way they were treated by the British before independence to the treatment of slaves and urged them to view slaves as Americans.

(You may remember that on Feb. 1, 2017, President Trump made comments to honor Black History Month and spoke about Douglass as if he were still alive: “Frederick Douglass is an example of somebody who’s done an amazing job and is getting recognized more and more, I notice.” Presumably, someone has told Trump by now that Douglass is long gone, although his work has always been appreciated.)
