Shay's Rebellion was the event where numerous farmers tried to stop courts from taking away property from people who couldn't pay. This showed how weak the Articles of Confederation was, which was the first constitution for the United States and gave little power to the national government. Eventually, this would lead to the Constitutional Convention of 1787, where the Articles of Confederation would be scrapped and the United States Constitution would be created instead. This gave power to the national government and assured that something like the Shay's Rebellion would not happen again.
