This is how you solve.

6^2 = 6 * 6 = 36

3^2 = 3 * 3 = 9

so 36 + 9 = 45

A ball is kicked off of the roof of a building. The path the ball travels is modeled by the equation f(x)= -x^2 + 6x+ 16, where
damaskus [11]

Answer:

This question is a rather easy one which can be answered by simply solving the embedded quadratic equation.

f(x) = -x^{2} + 6x + 16

To make our solving easier, what we do is multiply the whole equation by -1. By so doing, we make "x" positive. Then, we have

f(x) = x^{2} - 6x - 16

Solving this equation quadratically, we have

x^{2} + 2x - 8x - 16 = and when we factorize this expression, we have

x(x + 2) -8(x + 2) =

(x - 8) (x + 2) = 0

x - 8 = 0, x + 2 = 0

x = 8, or  x = -2

Since distance can not be in negative(minus), we then have our x to be 8 meters.

Consider this system of equation. Which shows the second equation written in slope-intercept form?y = 3x - 210(x+3/5)=2yA) y=5x+
SashulF [63]

we have that

y = 3x - 2

10(x+3/5)=2y------> the second equation----->divide by 2 both sides

5(x+3/5)=y-----> y=5x+3

y=5x+3------> second equation written in slope-intercept form

so

case A) y=5x+3/10-----> is not equal to y=5x+3

case B) y=5x+3--->is equal to y=5x+3--------->  is the answer

case C) y=1/5x+3/25-------> is not equal to y=5x+3

case D) y=1/2x+6-----> is not equal to y=5x+3

therefore

the answer is the option

B) y=5x+3

In a triangle the midline joining the midpoints of two sides is parallel to the third side and half as long ⇒

2(3x + 2) = 2x + 20
6x + 4 = 2x + 20
6x - 2x = 20 - 4
4x = 16
x = 16/4
x = 4

midsegment = 3x + 2 = 3*4 + 2 = 12 + 2 = 14

Find the area of the given polygon.
zimovet [89]

9514 1404 393

Answer:

  88 square inches

Step-by-step explanation:

The figure can be divided into two congruent trapezoids, each with bases 7 and 4 inches, and height 8 inches. Then the total area is ...

  A = 2(1/2)(b1 +b2)h

  A = (7 +4)(8) = 88 . . . . square inches
