Treaty of Versailles, was not signed until 1919. Despite officially ending the war and establishing peace, the treaty would cause much anger in Germany and Italy and a future war.

The treaty of Versailles basically held Germany accountable to the damages that incurred to its opposition during the world war I. In order to pay off this damage, Germany had to accumulate large amount of Debt that almost led the country into bankruptcy. This made the people of Germany felt miserable.

In 1930s, Hitler emerged in popularity by selling a ray of hope for the citizens of Germany. He managed to increase the feeling of nationalism within the country and convinced the majority of the people to support the next war effort that will put Germany as the leader of the western countries.

This will eventually led to the second world war.
