fenix001 [56]

Answer:

The Articles of Confederation served as the written document that established the functions of the national government of the United States after it declared independence from Great Britain. It established a weak central government that mostly, but not entirely, prevented the individual states from conducting their own foreign diplomacy.

Who taught that justice consisted of treating all persons as though they were neighbors and that treating people in this way was
NikAS [45]

Augustine

Explanation:

  • In his work St. Augustine gives a Christian synthesis of world-historical processes and shows that it is connected with God's plans and intentions. His proposition that the course of the history of mankind is predetermined by the will of God is commonly regarded in literature as the first conception of the philosophy of history.
  • St. Augustine believes that humanity with its history stands in unity with the history of God, but in separate spheres, and that this manifests itself as a struggle between two states (cities): terrestrial (civitas terrain), in which self-loving, evil, and sinful people, and God's (civitas Dei), which gathers around the Christian church a smaller part of humanity, who deserves the mercy and salvation of God through his moral and religious conduct.
  • The premise of belonging to God’s state based on God’s love is obedience to God and the church. This state, which is absolutely good, is fighting an earthly one that is absolutely evil and ultimately wins. The final victory of the good establishes the kingdom of God on earth.

What was the nixon doctrine? how did this doctrine play out in foreign policy
Wewaii [24]
Essentially, the Nixon Doctrine was Richard Nixon's foreign policy manifesto. It outlined that the United States would provide help to foreign nations combatting communism with financial aid rather than military aid. This essentially was to limit the deployment of US military abroad, like in Vietnam or Korea.
The Nixon Doctrine was in line with Nixon's idea of "Detente" which literally means "relaxation" in French. Nixon wanted to defuse relations with China and the USSR by withdrawing US troops from "proxy wars" (wars fought between two opposing sides but either side is backed by a foreign power, in this case the United States and the USSR).
To answer the final part of your question, the Nixon Doctrine had initial success. The Doctrine was intrinsic to the Paris Peace Conference in 1973 which saw the end to the Vietnam War. It also allowed Nixon to obtain the Strategic Arms Limitation Treaty (SALT) with the USSR, which limited the amount of nuclear missiles (ICBM's especially), and become the first US President to visit Communist China. The Doctrine was essentially a part of a plan for "peaceful coexistence" between the democracies and the communists, and may have been successful were it not for Nixon's downfall in 1974 and Ford and Carter's lack of continuity in the Doctrine.
