Gregor Mendel was the first scientist to use statistics to analyze scientific data. Before Mendel’s experiments, scientists beli

eved that organisms acquired traits from their environment and passed them on to their offspring. After Mendel’s discoveries were accepted, scientists realized that traits passed to offspring were the result of genes being passed from parents to offspring. This is an example of a theory changing because a new scientific method was developed. a law changing because a new scientific method was developed. a hypothesis changing because a new scientific method was developed. an observation changing because a new scientific method was developed.

You can't change a law, because it's just an observation or statement of fact like gravity makes things move toward each other.
It's not an observation because you can't physically see traits being inherited.
It may be a changing theory or a changing hypothesis.

The mineral substances that are normally found in the blood, such as sodium and potassium, are known as ____________________.
Leya [2.2K]

The mineral substances that are normally found in the blood, such as sodium and potassium, are known as Electrolytes.

Who are electrolytes?

Electrolytes are minerals that carry an electrical charge when they are dissolved in a liquid such as blood. Blood electrolytes – sodium, potassium, chloride and bicarbonate – help regulate nerve and muscle function and maintain an acid-base balance.

Major Electrolytes are Sodium, potassium, calcium, phosphate and magnesium are the electrolytes involved in salt balance disorders. In addition, the concentration of chloride and bicarbonate is commonly measured.

Why is the tidal range smaller duringa Neap tide than it is during a Spring Tide?
SSSSS [86.1K]

Answer:

Spring tides have higher high tides and lower low tides whereas neap tides have lower high tides and higher low tides. Hence, the range (difference in water level between high and low tide) is much larger in a spring tide than in a low tide.

Jon likes hiking. He observes that whenever he hikes up a hill, he breathes heavier than when he is on flat ground. Which two st
mestny [16]

Answer:

The correct statements are:

 • Sensors in the brain detect a lack of oxygen.
 • The muscles in his body need more energy and therefore more oxygen.

The amount of oxygen in air and atmospheric pressure decreases with increase in altitude.

So, when Jon hikes up the hill he faces two problems; lack of oxygen in the air and decrease in atmospheric pressure.

Decreased atmospheric pressure makes it difficult for the lungs to breathe in the air and lack of oxygen decrease the blood oxygen level.

In addition, physical activity like hiking increases the oxygen demand of the body.

Due to these factors the respiratory system struggles to meet the oxygen demand of the body. The brain detect the same and triggers the respiratory and circulatory system to work more in order to meet the oxygen demand.

It causes the shortness of breath or heavy breathing, high blood pressure, tiredness, dizziness etc.
