This question is missing the options. I've found the complete question online. It is the following:

"While the people of Guilder were forced to read propaganda, the citizens of Florin were able to read honest, fact-based news reporting." In this example, the word "propaganda" can be defined through:

A. Homophones

B. Homonyms

C. Synonyms

D. Antonyms

Answer:

In this example, the word "propaganda" can be defined through:

D. Antonyms

Explanation:

All the options given indicate types of context clues. A context clue can be defined as a piece of information given by the author that can help the reader understand something. In this case, if the reader does not know what the word "propaganda" means, he can infer it by reading on to the antonyms that appear shortly after: "honest, fact-based news reporting." Antonyms are words that have opposite meanings. If "honest, fact-based news reporting" is an antonym for "propaganda", the reader can infer that propaganda consists of false or modified information.

Answer:

1. The author concludes that fitness machines are a great form of exercise if the person using them truly is emjoying what they are doing but often times they are seen as boring so people don't want to use them. That is why being involved in a sport or game is a better option for many people.

2.The author uses a fairly convincing tone by saying different reasons why games are fun and why people get bored with going to the gym and using machines. You feel convinced at the end that you should go play a game.

3. "Is there anything that can me done?" The author used this rhetorical question to represent what the reader may be wondering. While reading this article someone may be thinking what they could do for exercise other than go to the gym and he expresses that emotion. It is also more intriguing to have questions in articles.

4. "I am more healthy because I don't work out at the gym". Mental health is something to consider. If your on a machine for hours at a time your brain is just dying so you join a sport or game that is mentally engaging. Since it's fun it doesn't seem like a workout.

Hope this helps :)
