Berkowitz and LePage (1967) found that frustrated men delivered more shocks when:_____
Y_Kistochka [10]

Answer: d. guns happened to be in the room.

Explanation:

The weapon effect theory is a theory of social psychology. It suggests that mere presence of weapon or its picture can lead to aggressive behavior or may produce shock in human participants.

This theory was demonstrated by the Leonard Berkowitz and Anthony LePage in 1967. These researchers selected 100 male university students for one laboratory session.

These were randomly assigned to receive one or seven shocks. These shocks generated by the weapon those were kept on the laboratory and were related to belong to one of the peer. This will may generate mental shock among the students.

Plant cells have mitochondria, which use glucose to produce ATP. Where does the glucose originate?
Romashka [77]

Plant produces glucose in the chloroplast through the process of photosynthesis. Calvin cycle is basically the biological process through which glucose is produced. The steps involved are as follows:

1. Absorbed CO2 is added to RuBP and 6C sugar is formed.

2. Breaking of 6C sugar into two  3-phosphoglycerate molecules

3. ATP gives phosphate group  to form 3-phosphoglycerate which is later on converted into 1,3-biphosphoglycerate.

4. Electons are required by 1,3-biphosphoglycerate to an aldehyde called glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate or G3P and these electrons are donated by NADPH

5. Enzyme aldolase uses two molecules of G3P to produce 6 C sugar called  fructose-1,6-biphosphate which is further converted to fructose-6-phosphate

6. Enzyme  isomerase converts fructose-6-phosphate to glucose-1-phosphate

Describe in words what occurs during the process represented by the photosynthesis equation. Include the importance of sunlight
8_murik_8 [283]

Photosynthesis usually takes place in the leaves. Leaf cells contain many chloroplasts (up to 50 per cell). These organelles contain a green pigment, chlorophyll, capable of capturing light energy. This energy is used to make sugar molecules from water drawn from the soil by the roots and carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, captured by the leaves. The sugars produced subsequently distributed in the different parts of the plant.

Here is the reaction of photosynthesis:

6 CO2 + 6 H2O + light energy ==> C6H12O6 (glucose) + 6 O2

But this balance is in fact broken down into two successive stages:

photochemical reactions (clear phase):

12 H2O + light ==> 6 O2 + chemical energy;

the Calvin cycle (dark phase):

6 CO2 + chemical energy ==> C6H12O6 + 6 H2O.

The first phase of photosynthesis, called clear phase, requires the illumination of the leaf. Chlorophyll, which is embedded in the thylakoid membrane, absorbs light energy. This energy absorption is accompanied by the degradation of water molecules and the release of oxygen.

In a second phase independent of light, called the dark phase, the energy absorbed by chlorophyll is used for the transformation of carbon dioxide molecules into sugar molecules.

The sugars made by photosynthesis are stored in the cell as starch, transformed into other organic molecules, such as proteins, or degraded in the mitochondria during respiration to meet the energy needs of the plant.

The area around the Sahara Desert is slowly changing into a dry region, similar to the desert. Which trait is most likely to be
Leto [7]

Answer:

The area around the "Sahara Desert" is slowly changing into a "dry region", "similar to the desert". "Trait encoding" for "short plant structure" to "reduce transport of water" is "most likely to be selected" in the "population of plants growing" in this region.
