A starving wolf howled in the distance, wondering where all the deer went. The squirrel paid him no mind, attempting to retrace her tracks back to her home. She didn't hear the pounding paws rushing toward her, muffled by the flurrying snow. She didn't notice the shadow suddenly blanketing her. She didn't notice the icy breath freezing in the air around her.
