Due to this change, the workforce transformed from a demand for skilled workers to unskilled workers. With interchangeable parts, there was no longer a need for individuals to make everything from hand. Instead, businesses were able to mass produce products with the help of unskilled workers. These workers were usually taught a specific, repeatable task. As long as the unskilled worker was able to learn this task, they would be able to keep their job. This revolutionizes the workforce for over 100 years, as the addition of the assembly line along with interchangeable parts results in the creation of products at a rate never seen before in world history.
