rather simple, simply count how many zeros are there in each and that'll be the exponent of the base 10.

\bf 1\stackrel{\leftarrow \qquad \textit{23 zeros}\qquad \to }{00,000,000,000,000,000,000,000}\implies \stackrel{Mars}{10^{23}~Kgs} \\\\\\ 1\stackrel{\leftarrow \qquad \textit{26 zeros}\qquad \to }{00,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000}\implies \stackrel{Neptune}{10^{26}~Kgs}

The sketches show the graphs y=-x^2+16 and y=7
Tanzania [10]

Answer:

7 = -x^2 +16

x^2 -16 = 7

x^2 -23 = 0

Using quadratic equation

x = -0 +- sqrt (23^2 - 4*1*23) / 2 * 1

x = sqrt (0 - -92) / 2

x = sqrt (92) / 2

x1 = 4.7958

x2 = -4.7958

What is the value of x to the nearest tenth? A 14. B 14.4. C 13.5. D 13.2
Ivan

Answer:

x=13.5

Step-by-step explanation:

sin 48 = opposite/ hypotenuse

sin 48 = 10/x

multiply by x on each side

x sin 48 =10

divide by sin 48

x = 10/sin 48

x = 13.456

round to the nearest tenth

13.5

What is the equation of the line that began with a y-intercept of (0,4), was shifted up 3 units, and is perpendicular to y = 3/4
timama [110]

Answer:

Option A

y=-4/3x+7

Step-by-step explanation:

To solve this, we need to understand the various components of the equation of a straight line.

A straight line has the equation: y =mx + c

<em>m</em> is the slope and<em> c</em> is the intercept on the y-axis. If we can get these two components, we can figure out the equation for the new line.

Calculating the slope, <em>m</em>

To obtain the slope of the new line, we use the fact that it is perpendicular to the slope of the line y = 3/4x-2.

This means that

3/4 X <em>m</em> = -1

<em>m</em> = -4/3

To obtain the intercept, <em>c</em>

The intercept can be obtained by adding 3 to the y-component of (0, 4).

This will give (0, 7). Hence the intercept c will be 7.

Therefore, the equation of the line will be y = -4/3x+7. Option A
