How did Marquis de Condorcet galvanize the women’s rights movement in france
dem82 [27]
So he’s a pretty cool guy and was ahead of his time (wanting equal rights for all wasn’t so popular in the 18th century )
It was a very misogynistic time and the ideal woman would be one who’s submissive to her husband. But this was happening around the French Revolution and women were demanding to take part and to be heard in a way. They attempted riots and started attending political clubs.
Marquis wrote a newspaper article in support of political rights for women. (And people were pretty much shocked ) he wrote that frances women should get just as much political rights as men. Pretty shortly after that a small group of women started a small women’s rights club. Hope that helped somewhat :)

Why does Jefferson approve of having the House of Representatives chosen by voters?
frutty [35]
After we had won our independence, Jefferson firmly believed that in this new nation there would be no kings or queens or monarchy rule. To avoid this he wanted to establish the law that the United States would be run by the people thus creating the cabinet and the president and also allowing American citizens that met certain qualifications to vote on the representatives because it gave more power back to the people.
