Answer:

A limiting factor is anything that constrains a population's size and slows or stops it from growing. Some examples of limiting factors are biotic, like food, mates, and competition with other organisms for resources. Others are abiotic, like space, temperature, altitude, and amount of sunlight available in an environment. Limiting factors are usually expressed as a lack of a particular resource. For example, if there are not enough prey animals in a forest to feed a large population of predators, then food becomes a limiting factor. Likewise, if there is not enough space in a pond for a large number of fish, then space becomes a limiting factor. There can be many different limiting factors at work in a single habitat, and the same limiting factors can affect the populations of both plant and animal species. Ultimately, limiting factors determine a habitat's carrying capacity, which is the maximum size of the population it can support.

Which option correctly identifies the number of chromosomes in the cells at each point?
kodGreya [7K]
Option (A) identifies them correctly.

During Meosis 2 daughter cells are formed from a single cell and the chromosomes are equally divided in both the cells.

So, Cell P had 60 chromosome, after miosis 2 daughter cells of each having 30 chromosomes formed, and again after Miosis of from each of those 2 those daughter cells, 2 more daughter cells are formed with equal naumber of chtomosome which equals 15.

A geochronological scale measured in Millions of Years Ago or M Y A. Mesozoic era: Triassic period, 250 to 201 MYA, first dinosa
motikmotik

Answer:

D. The first flowering plants were introduced toward the end of the Mesozoic era.

Explanation:

Following the Paleozoic Era, the Mesozoic Era or Age of Conifers began approximately 250 million years ago. This major geological era brought about the ancestors of many of the plant and animal groups still in existence today.

The Mesozoic era is marked by 3 divisions:

 1. the Triassic Period,
 2. the Jurassic Period,
 3. and the Cretaceous Period.

Animals and plants slowly recovered after the mass extinction in the Permian-Triassic extinction that led to the eradication of most aquatic marine species. They evolved to exploit varying niches in their environment, leading to a boom in terrestrial animals. Over time the planet's increasingly warm climate, abundant in atmospheric oxygen and carbon dioxide, contributed to the growth of diverse megaflora, that rapidly dominated the planet's terrestrial biosphere.

By the end of the Mesozoic Era, in the Cretaceous period, flowering plants (angiosperms) largely replaced the dominant seed ferns of the Triassic, and the conifers, cycads and gymnosperms of the Jurassic.

Varied dispersal mechanisms in angiosperms co-evolved with the evolution of certain types of fauna. Plants used animal life, including herbivorous reptiles and early mammal-like species to disperse large seeds.

There are no known motor proteins that move on intermediate filaments (IFs).
Harlamova29_29 [7]

Answer: The correct option is E ( Intermediate filaments are unpolarized).

Explanation:

Intermediate Filaments are usually associated with cells that can withstand mechanical stress which includes claws of animals, hair and makes up the dead remnants of the epidermal cell of the skin. Therefore without the supporting network of intermediate filaments, an epithelium remains intact but the cells are prone to damage by abrasive forces.

Intermediate filaments are so named because they are thicker than actin filaments and thinner than microtubules or muscle myosin filaments

The properties or characteristics of an intermediate filaments that explains the lack of motor proteins is as a result of its subunits which are elongated, not globular and are associated in an anti-polar manner. Therefore, the overall filament has no polarity, and therefore no motor proteins move along intermediate filaments
