The honeymoon phase, is basically the phase in which both partners are highly infatuated with each other and it feels like they are in love, even though they aren't.
The tension phase is basically it's name. There is a lot of tension between the two, it's kind of more like one partner is walking on eggshells constantly because they don't want to lead to any arguments. So like silent and awkward meals and such. It may help to think of this stage as how it feels when you try to connect the same part of magnets together and they wont touch and instead push away because of all of the tension in the middle. The violent phase is very, well, obviously not good. There is obviously violence, whether it be physical, sexual, emotional, verbal. This stage is very abusive and can lead to some really bad and really scary stuff. But you see, the abuser is most commonly very manipulative and they always find some way to try to pin the blame on you and make you feel bad, very small and very belittled. Then, they find someone to forgive you for what they did (that is the manipulation at work, and the emotional abuse in place). They somehow make you want to leave the relationship, but then when you want to and are going to, they reel you back in and the process goes on and over again. It is a constant thing between the two, and that is why people say it's so hard to get out of those relationships, because they feel mentally and emotionally torn because the abuser tends to try and make all of their partners descisions
