Which is true of unipotent stem cells
slamgirl [31]

It is true that uni-potent stem cells can only produce cells that are like themselves

Answer: Option B

<u>Explanation:</u>

Uni potent cell as their name suggests can only produce cells that are just like themselves. Compared to the other stem cells that undergo proliferation this produces a tissue of that particular type alone.

Though it can’t be of much use like other cells giving rise to different cell types this is confined to the generation of one particular tissue. The uni-potent cells help to renovate and recreate themselves too. Hence any damaged tissue can be replaced by the uni-potent cell giving rise to the same tissue in case of burns etc.

I am a circulating cell involved in ige type allergic reactions. i am a mediator of allergic reactions because i can release gra
777dan777 [17]

Answer:

I am a basophil.

Further information:

Basophil:

Basophils are a type of white blood cell. Basophils are the smallest common of the granulocytes, representing about 0.5 to 1% of circulating white blood cells. Yet, they are the major type of granulocyte.

Function of basophil:

They are accountable for inflammatory reactions during immune response, as well as in the development of acute and chronic allergic diseases, including anaphylaxis, asthma, atopic dermatitis and hay fever. They also yield compounds those co-ordinate immune responses, including histamine and serotonin that induce inflammation, heparin that stops blood clotting, although there are less than that found in mast cell granules.

Basophils may present in many specific types of inflammatory reactions, specially those that cause allergic symptoms. Basophils have anticoagulant heparin, which prevents blood from clotting too rapidly. They also have the vasodilator histamine, which promotes blood flow to tissues.

Structure of Basophil:

Basophils comprise large cytoplasmic granules which vague the cell nucleus under the microscope when stained. However, when unspotted, the nucleus is visible and it usually has two lobes. The Mast cell which is another granulocyte has very like in appearance and function. Both cell types store histamine, a chemical that is secreted by the cells when inspired. However, they arise from different branches of hematopoiesis, and mast cells usually do not circulate in the blood stream, but instead are located in connective tissue. Similar to all circulating granulocytes, basophils can be carried out of the blood into a tissue when we need it.

Select the correct statement about the immune system. Select the correct statement about the immune system. All antigen receptor
Bingel [31]

Answer:

All antigen receptors produced by a single B or T cell are identical and bind to the same epitope.

Explanation:

Epitope or antigen determinant is the specific part of the antigen that is recognized by an antibody or T-cell receptor. During clonal selection, a lymphocyte proliferates and differentiates to form a group of highly specialized cells in response to a specific antigen present in the body.

The result of clonal selection is the formation of a population of identical cells that recognize the same specific epitope of the same antigen. A lymphocyte that undergoes clonal selection gives rise to two major types of cells in the clone: effector cells and memory cells.

For instance, the clonal propagation of B lymphocytes forms plasma cells (the effector cell) and memory cells. The plasma cells synthesize and secrete specific proteins called antibodies. All the antibodies derived from a plasma cell can bind to and inactivate the same specific antigen.
