Answer:

I am a basophil.

Further information:

Basophil:

Basophils are a type of white blood cell. Basophils are the smallest common of the granulocytes, representing about 0.5 to 1% of circulating white blood cells. Yet, they are the major type of granulocyte.

Function of basophil:

They are accountable for inflammatory reactions during immune response, as well as in the development of acute and chronic allergic diseases, including anaphylaxis, asthma, atopic dermatitis and hay fever. They also yield compounds those co-ordinate immune responses, including histamine and serotonin that induce inflammation, heparin that stops blood clotting, although there are less than that found in mast cell granules.

Basophils may present in many specific types of inflammatory reactions, specially those that cause allergic symptoms. Basophils have anticoagulant heparin, which prevents blood from clotting too rapidly. They also have the vasodilator histamine, which promotes blood flow to tissues.

Structure of Basophil:

Basophils comprise large cytoplasmic granules which vague the cell nucleus under the microscope when stained. However, when unspotted, the nucleus is visible and it usually has two lobes. The Mast cell which is another granulocyte has very like in appearance and function. Both cell types store histamine, a chemical that is secreted by the cells when inspired. However, they arise from different branches of hematopoiesis, and mast cells usually do not circulate in the blood stream, but instead are located in connective tissue. Similar to all circulating granulocytes, basophils can be carried out of the blood into a tissue when we need it.

The correct answer is basophil.

The basophils are a kind of white blood cell that appears in various specific types of inflammatory responses, mainly those, which leads to allergic reactions. The basophils comprise anticoagulant heparin that inhibits the blood from coagulating or coating too briskly. They also comprise of the vasodilator histamine that encourages the flow of blood to the tissues.

Describe what it means for a field of study to be considered a science
Artist 52 [7]

<u>Explanation:</u><u> </u>

In general, field of study refers to gaining the knowledge in a particular branch. On the other hand, science means the system where we can attain the knowledge about the universe. This always delivers with theoretical and experimental descriptions in a detailed manner about natural phenomenon.

This handles with each and every aspects about living organisms and environment. This paves the way to know more details in particular part. Hence, field of study like physics, engineering also referred a science in this manner.

How can a rise in temperature cause a change in a polar ecosystem
Dvinal [7]

Sea levels would rise.

Increase in temperature (for example due to global warming) increases the rate of melting of polar ice.

Consequently, the sea levels of the polar ecosystem would increase.

In addition, the melting of the ice caps also increases the temperature of the water in the oceans. As a result, the water expands which also increases the sea levels.

What are genes, DNA, chromosomes?
Leto [7]
Genes are segments of deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) that contain the code for a specific protein that functions in one or more types of cells in the body. Chromosomes are structures within cells that contain a person's genes. Genes are contained in chromosomes, which are in the cell nucleus.

Myristoyl-CoA is a saturated fatty acid with 14 carbons attached to coenzyme A. How many molecules of ATP would be generated fro
sladkih [1.3K]

Answer:

Total ATP molecules produced = 94 molecules of ATP

Explanation:

Myristoyl-CoA, is a saturated fatty acid with 14 carbons which has been activated for oxidation by attachment to coenzyme A. When it has undergone complete oxidation, it will yield 7 acetyl-CoA molecules and 6 FADH₂ and 6 NADH molecules each.

Each of the 7 acetyl-CoA molecules obtained from its initial oxidation enters into the citric acid cycle and is completely oxidized to yield further ATP and  FADH₂ and NADH molecules.

The overall yield of ATP from the various enzymatic steps is shown below:

Acyl-CoA dehydrodenase = 6 FADH₂

β-Hydroxyacyl-CoA dehydrogenase = 6 NADH

Isocitrate dehydrogenase = 7 NADH

α-Ketoglutarate dehydrogenase = 7 NADH

Succinyl-CoA synthase = 7 ATP (from substrate-level phosphorylation)

Succinate dehydrogenase = 7 FADH₂

Malate dehydrogenase = 7 NADH

Note: 1 FADH2 molecule yields 1.5 ATP; 1 NADH molecule yields 2.5 ATP molecules. Therefore,

Total ATP  from FADH₂ molecules = 13 * 1.5 = 19.5

Total NADH molecules = 27 * 2.5 = 67.5

Total ATP molecules produced = 19.5 + 67.5 + 7  = 94

Total ATP molecules produced = 94 molecules of ATP
