Women and minorities had to fight so hard and for so long to gain the right to vote because they were different, and it was never made normal that women or people of ethnicities could vote. Only men could vote because they were the "leaders' and the women would make them food, take care of the kids, or do housework. Minorities couldn't vote because of their color, reputation, and lack of oppurtunities. For example, if a white man and a minority man were going for the same job, the white man would get it because that was normalized back then. Many people in different countries have to be scilenced even in this day in age because of culture or religon.
