Answer:

The plot in The Proposal unfolds in the expected order: we first encounter the exposition, then the rising action, the climax, the falling action, and finally, the resolution.

The first element of plot structure is exposition. We learn that the play is set in the Russian countryside during the 1800s, and we quickly meet the three main characters when Lomov comes to Chubukov’s house to ask for Natalya’s hand in marriage.

The rising action of the play occurs when—because Natalya does not realize that Lomov is trying to propose—Lomov and Natalya start arguing over who owns Oxen Meadows. Natalya and Chubukov overwhelm Lomov with their insults and drive him away.

The climax occurs when Chubukov informs Natalya that Lomov had come to propose to her. This event shocks Natalya, and she cries in desperation for Chubukov to bring Lomov back so that she can accept his proposal.

The falling action of the play occurs when Natalya and Lomov get into another argument over whose dog is the better hunter. This argument causes Lomov to faint.

The resolution of the play occurs when Natalya informs Lomov that she is "willing" to marry him after he recovers from his fainting spell.

Answer:

Plot is a sequence of events that begins with an exposition and ends with a resolution.

Explanation:

Plot is the sequence of events in a story that are connected to the main characters. Those events happen in the context of conflicts that build up tension, until a final conflict is addressed and resolved.

Plots begin with the exposition. This is the part of a story in which the author sets the stage for what will happen. It is in the exposition that we get to know the characters, some of the conflicts, the setting, etc. This will help us understand the unfolding of the story.

Resolution is what comes after the climax (the big conflict that has been building up), when the conflicts have been solved and things have worked out. This is how the story ends.

bekas [8.4K]
Since extensive writing is one that that is meant to be shared, you would pick an answer that you would be able to share and isnt personal. eliminate all three options except the one in which it isnt personal and you wouldnt mind it being shared. so writing an essay on a research topic is the answer.
