How did postwar conditions (after WW1) contribute to a rise in dictatorships in Europe?
olchik [2.2K]
They were all in the depression at the time. Let's use Hitler and Germany as an example; at the time Hitler was a mere politician and people of Germany wanted to get out of this depression, Hitler announced that he would make Germany the great empire it was by getting themselves out of the depression, and he did! People looked for a government that could help them, or simply someone who could make the country fall out of the depression.

What important document did the alien and sedition acts directly contradict
slava [35]

The Alien and Sedition Acts of 1798 directly contradicted the Bill of Rights ratified in 1791. By prohibiting any act that was considered against the government, the Alien and Sedition Acts was a document that limited the freedom of speech that states the Bill of Rights. Also, imprisonment of any person belonging to a country that was in war with the US at the moment as established by these Acts, was something that challenged what is stated in the Bill of Rights.

In what ways do you think Americans would be expected to "ask what they
raketka [301]

The correct answer to this open question is the following,

Americans would be expected to "ask what they could do for their country" in their commitment to do anything necessary in order to cooperate with the federal government of the United States under the leadership of President John F. Kennedy.

I think I would have reacted with emotion and support to his message during his inaugural address because President Kennedy represented hope for the American people during difficult times of the Cold War, where the Soviet Union and the United States had many differences and confrontations due to the arms race, the space race, and the spread of Communism.
