The manager of a grocery store has selected a random sample of 100 customers. The average length of time it took these 100 custo

mers to check out was 3.0 minutes. It is known that the standard deviation of the checkout time is 1 minute. Refer to Exhibit 8-2. If the confidence coefficient is reduced to .80, the standard error of the mean _____.

Answer:

The standard error of the mean remains unchanged.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that:

The standard error (S.E) of the mean = \dfrac{\sigma}{\sqrt{n}} with is independent of confidence coefficient.

The margin of error E = z \times S.E

This explains the claim that as the confidence coefficient reduces, the z-value also reduces, so as the Margin of error (E) but the standard error will always remain unchanged.

i.e.

From the question;

sample size n = 100

standard deviation = 1

mean = 3.0

The standard error (S.E) of the mean = \dfrac{1}{\sqrt{100}}

= 0.1

So, if the confidence coefficient is reduced to 0.80, the standard error of the mean remains unchanged.

Ok, so
Length = L
Width = L + 7

Since area = length x width, then

30 = L × (L + 7)

Remember that L + 7 Is width so...

L + 7 = 30/L

So the expression for the width in terms of length would be...
w = 30/L - 7

Forces with magnitudes of 2000 newtons and 900 newtons act on a machine part at angles of +30degrees and -45degrees respectively
mote1985 [20]

To get the resultant magnitude and direction of the forces we need to separate the force into its x and y components. For the x components it is the sum of 2000cos(30) and 900cos(45), which is 2368.4469 N. For the y components it will be the sum of 2000sin(30) and -900sin(45), the value for the second force is negative because it is pointing downwards, their sum would be 363.6038 N. The magnitude for the resultant force can be determined using the pythagorean theorem R=sqrt(2368.4469^2 + 363.6038^2) while its direction is found using tan^-1(363.6038/2368.4469). The final answer would be 2396.1946 N with an angle of 8.7279 degrees from the right side of x axis.

Answer:

Ship B

Step-by-step explanation:

In each triangle, the longest side is opposite the largest angle, and the shortest side is opposite the smallest angle.

Calculate a measure of an angle A.

We know: The sum of the angle measures in a triangle is 180°.

Therefore:

m∠A = 180° - (46° + 62°) = 180° - 108° = 72°

m∠B = 62°

LB is opposite ∠A, LA is opposite ∠B.

m∠A > m∠B → LB > LA.

Therefore Ship B is further away.

Answer: 2 visits

Step-by-step explanation: Because you already have to pay for a $35 membership, you do 45-35=10 because the maximum amount of money you can spend is $45.

Then, you see that it is $5 per visit, therefore, letting you only be able to visit twice because 5+5=10.
