In response China invaded the North for themselves, the numerical advantage had helped them encircle many division, and barely letting them get away. This was catastrophic and the USA had commanded to retreat to the 38th parallel. The UN had barely stopped the Chinese from getting past the 38th, and finally the 1953 Korean armistice was signed, and had formally stopped the attacks from both sides.
