Answer:

a)  v₁ = √ [2 (P₂-P₀) /ρ + 2 (y₂ -y₁)]

b) Water does not flow,

Explanation:

a) For this exercise we will use Bernoulli's equation, where index 1 is at the exit and index 2 on the surface of the water

            P₁ + ½ ρ v₁² + ρ g y₁ = P₂ + ½ ρ v₂² + ρ g y₂

This case does not indicate at the surface pressure is P₂, the pressure at the outlet is P₁ = P₀, the surface velocity is zero v₂ = 0

          P₀ + ½ ρ v₁² + ρ g y₁ = P₂ + 0 + ρ g y₂

           ½ ρ v₁² = P₂-P₀ + ρ (y₂ -y₁)

          v₁² = 2 (P₂-P₀) /ρ + 2 (y₂ -y₁)

          v₁ = √ [2 (P₂-P₀) /ρ + 2 (y₂ -y₁)]

b) Reduce the pressure to SI units

         P₂ = 0.86 atm (1.01 10⁵ Pa / 1 atm) = 0.8686 10⁵ Pa

         P₀ = 1.01 10⁵ Pa

         ρ = 1 10³ kg / m³

Let's calculate

         v₁ = √ [2 (0.8686 -1.01) 10⁵/10³ + 2 (2.6)]

         v₁ = √ [-0.2828 10² + 5.2] = Ra [-23]

Water does not flow, this is because the pressure of the inner part is less than atmospheric, so that the water flows the pressure P₂> = P₀

For example if the pressure P₂ = P₀

         v₁ = √ 5.2

          v₁ = 2.28 m / s

Imagine a system where a block rests on an inclined plane. The block is then given an initial push so that it starts sliding dow
Helen [10]

Answer:

statement - 'The work done by friction is equal to the sum of the work done by the gravity and the initial push' is correct.

Explanation:

The statement ''The work done by friction is equal to the sum of the work done by the gravity and the initial push" is correct.

The above statement is correct because, the initial push will tend to slide down the block thus the work done by the initial push will be in the downward direction. Also, the gravity always acts in the downward direction. thus, the work done done by the gravity will also be in the downward direction

here, the downward direction signifies the downward motion parallel to the inclined plane.

Now we know that the work done by the friction is against the direction of motion. Thus, the friction force will tend to move the block up parallel to the inclined plane.

Hence, for the block to stop sliding the the above statement should be true.

A coil of Nichrome wire is 25.0 m long. The wire has a diameter of 0.400mm and is at 20.0°C. If it carries a current of 0.500 A,
yaroslaw [1]

The power delivered to the coil is 0.5 Watts

Resistivity of a material

The formula for calculating the power delivered to it is expressed according to the equation

Power = I²R

where

I is the current

R is the resistance

Given

Current = 0.500A

Determine the resistance using the resistivity formula

R = ρL/A

Substitute the given parameters

R = 10^-6*(25)/0.002²

R = 2ohms

Substitute

Power = I²R

Power = (0.5)²(2)

Power = 0.5watts

Hence the power delivered to the coil is 0.5 Watts

Friction causes resistance against a moving object. It can cause an object to slow down, or stop when there’s enough friction…. I hope this helps
