When Shay's Rebellion took place, the government could do little to stop it. This upset several colonists, and helped show that the Government had little power under the Articles of Confederation. In other words, Shay's Rebellion lead to changing the Articles of Confederation because it showed that the government under the Articles of Confederation was not strong enough to keep peace.
