There were 3  friends. Each of them bought 6 packs of candy. Each pack had 18 pieces of candy. How much candy did they have in total? .

3 × 6 = 18

18 × 18 = 324

SO, they had 324 pieces of candy in total.

Hope I helped:P

Answer: Here we have a real life multiplication situation for which an estimate make sense:-

Maria has 102 cans of cold drink. Sareena has thrice as many cans of cold drink Maria has. Estimate the number of cans of cold drink Sareena has?

Solution :- Number of cans Maria has = 102

Number of cans Sareena has= 3 times 102

=3\times102

We know that 102 is near to 100 , so round off 109 to 100 (to the nearest hundred)

Thus the product becomes =3\times100\\=300

Therefore, the estimated number of cans Sareena has=300

Sea World has 9 aquariums with small fish in them and the number of fish in each tank are shown below: 45, 10, 48, 19, 36, 25, 6
crimeas [40]

Answer:

53

Step-by-step explanation:

To find the range, subtract the lowest number from the highest number

Arrange the numbers from least to greatest

45, 10, 48, 19, 36, 25, 63, 14, 37

10, 14, 19, 25, 36, 37, 45, 48, 63

The highest number is 63, and the lowest is 10

Now, subtract the lowest (10) from the highest (63)

highest - lowest

63-10

53

So, the range of the number of fish is 53

Consider a machine that fills 275 gallon tanks of water. The owner discovers that the machine does not always dispense exactly 2
fenix001 [56]

Answer:

(a) The random variable <em>X</em> is a continuous random variable.

(b) The probability density function is shown below.

(c) The probability that a 275 gallon tank gets less than 272.5 gallons or more than 273.8 gallons of water is 0.285.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the random variable <em>X</em> be denoted as the amount of water filled by the machine in a 275 gallon tank.

(a)

The random variable <em>X</em> is a continuous random variable.

A continuous random variables assumes infinite values. That is, they assume values in a fixed interval. For example, the distance covered by a car.

A discrete random variable assumes fixed definite values. They assume whole number values. For example, number of customers visiting a bank in an hour.

The amount of water in the tank can be any value between 0 to 275 gallon.

Hence, the random variable <em>X</em> is a continuous random variable.

(b)

The probability density function of the continuous random variable <em>X</em> is given as follows:

             0.25;\ 272

f_{X}(x) =0.20;\ 273

             0.55;\ 274

(c)

Compute the value of P (272.5 < X < 273.8) as follows:

P(272.5

Thus, the probability that a 275 gallon tank gets less than 272.5 gallons or more than 273.8 gallons of water is 0.285.

Label each pair of triangles with the postulate or theorem that proves the triangles are congruent.
Annette [7]

Answer:

<u>Δ MNO ≅ Δ PQR by ASA postulate</u>

Step-by-step explanation:

Δ MNO and Δ PQR are congruents because:

1. Their included sides MN and PR are equal (22 units = 22 units)

2. Their angles ∠M and ∠P are equal  (100° = 100°)

3. Their angles ∠N and ∠Q are equal  (35° = 35°)

<u>Now, we can conclude that Δ MNO ≅ Δ PQR by ASA postulate.</u>
