Answer:

tidal power

Tidal power or tidal energy is harnessed by converting energy from tides into useful forms of power, mainly electricity using various methods. Although not yet widely used, tidal energy has the potential for future electricity generation. Tides are more predictable than the wind and the sun.

Ocean thermal energy conservation

Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion (OTEC) is a marine renewable energy technology that harnesses the solar energy absorbed by the oceans to generate electric power. ... OTEC uses the ocean's warm surface water with a temperature of around 25°C (77°F) to vaporize a working fluid, which has a low-boiling point, such as ammonia.

hydrogen fuel

Hydrogen fuel cells produce electricity by combining hydrogen and oxygen atoms. The hydrogen reacts with oxygen across an electrochemical cell similar to that of a battery to produce electricity, water, and small amounts of heat. Many different types of fuel cells are available for a wide range of applications

fuel cell

Fuel cells work like batteries, but they do not run down or need recharging. They produce electricity and heat as long as fuel is supplied. A fuel cell consists of two electrodes—a negative electrode (or anode) and a positive electrode (or cathode)—sandwiched around an electrolyte.

Energy Efficiency

Energy efficiency simply means using less energy to perform the same task – that is, eliminating energy waste. Energy efficiency brings a variety of benefits: reducing greenhouse gas emissions, reducing demand for energy imports, and lowering our costs on a household and economy-wide level.

Hybrids

a hybrid is the offspring resulting from combining the qualities of two organisms of different breeds, varieties, species or genera through sexual reproduction.

Bovid Hybrids. Zubron - hybrid of domestic cattle and european bison

cogeneration

Cogeneration—also known as combined heat and power, distributed generation, or recycled energy—is the simultaneous production of two or more forms of energy from a single fuel source. Cogeneration power plants often operate at 50 to 70 percent higher efficiency rates than single-generation facilities

Which mechanism(s) are responsible for introducing new alleles into a population's gene pool?
Elena-2011 [213]

Answer: The right answer is -

A) Gene flow

Explanation:

Gene flow is a process of gene migration or the transfer of gene variant (also called allele, which is responsible for genetic variation in population) from one population to another population.

As a consequence of gene migration, new alleles are introduced or added in the already existing population, thereby increasing genetic diversity.

Thus, option A) is the right answer.

Mr. smith is a professional landscaper and spends a majority of his day working outside in the sun. what advice would you give h
harkovskaia [24]

If given a chance to advice Mr. Smith, I would recommend him to minimize going out in the sun when it is at the peak of the morning but if not possible since he works under the sun, it would be good to put on sunblock with a highest SPF and use precautionary measures like using hats and wearing long sleeve to protect also the skin.  More water to hydrate, and vitamins for skin protection.

The fur color in a colony of mice has been brown for many generations. One gene appears to code for the fur color pigment. In a
creativ13 [48]

Answer:

A mutation in the DNA sequence of the gene for brown fur

Explanation:

The mutations are capable of changing the encoded protein product, in this case the gene that encodes for the fur color pigment. This mutation may have occurred during mitosis or meiosis divisions.

If it is a spontaneous mutation that occurred in the germinal line (meiosis) and confers an adaptive advantage, it will increase their frequency in the population.

How is the relationship of the unicellular organism with homeostasis?
natulia [17]

Answer:

To maintain homeostasis, unicellular organisms grow, respond to the environment, transform energy, and reproduce. The cells of multicellular organisms become specialized for particular tasks and communicate with one another to maintain homeostasis. ... Active transport requires energy.
