Answer: The objective of this problem is to have you use a calculator and enter the data in to separate lists: one containing the x-values, and the other the correspondent y-values (following the same order). Once the data is entered, you need to access the regression tool and request a quadratic form of regression. You should get and image and resulting function as shown in the attached image.

\qquad \qquad\huge \underline{\boxed{\sf Answer}}

Let's solve for x ~

\qquad \sf  \dashrightarrow \: 5(2x + 4) = 15

\qquad \sf  \dashrightarrow \: (5 \times 2x) + (5 \times 4) = 15

\qquad \sf  \dashrightarrow \: 10x + 20 = 15

\qquad \sf  \dashrightarrow \: 10x + 20 - 20 = 15 - 20

\qquad \sf  \dashrightarrow \: 10x =  - 5

\qquad \sf  \dashrightarrow \:  \dfrac{10x}{10}  =  \dfrac{ - 5}{10}

\qquad \sf  \dashrightarrow \: x =   - \dfrac{ 1}{2}

hence value of x is - 1/2

Answer:

see explanation

Step-by-step explanation:

The equation of a line in slope- intercept form is

y = mx + c ( m is the slope and c the y- intercept )

To calculate m use the slope formula

m = (y₂ - y₁ ) / (x₂ - x₁ )

3

Using (x₁, y₁ ) = (0, 0) and (x₂, y₂ ) = (- 3, 6)

m = \frac{6-0}{-3-0} = \frac{6}{-3} = - 2

Since the line passes through the origin (0, 0) then y- intercept is 0

y = - 2x ← equation of line

4

let (x₁, y₁ ) = (6, 0) and (x₂, y₂ ) = (0, 3)

m = \frac{3-0}{0-6} = \frac{3}{-6} = - \frac{1}{2}

note the line crosses the y- axis at (0, 3) ⇒ c = 3

y = - \frac{1}{2} x + 3 ← equation of line

5

let (x₁, y₁ ) = (0, 3) and (x₂, y₂ ) = (-2, - 3)

m = \frac{-3-3}{-2-0} = \frac{-6}{-2} = 3

note the line crosses the y- axis at (0, 3) ⇒ c = 3

y = 3x + 3 ← equation of line

Suppose the goal for mr. Luockwoods class had been 250 cans. Then 550 cans would have been what percent of the goal?
ser-zykov [4K]

220% of the goal. This is because 500 cans would be 200% but since it’s 550, the extra 50% would equal to 220%.
