Answer: 1) a stem bends towards light. Tropism is the way a organism responds to its surrounding, the plant bends to the light, to survive.

2)  Stems and Gravity. The plant wants to be towards the sun, and as close to the light as possible, gravity pushing down, will negatively effect the plants efforts to reach the light.
