Gannett records were the first record label to release some of the first country blues recordings made by blind lemon Jefferson and Charley Patton in the 1920s.
Gannett was an American record company and label based in the prosperous 1920s Richmond, Indiana, United States. Gennett produced some of the earliest recordings of Louis Armstrong, King Oliver, Bix Beiderbecke and Hoagy Carmichael. His list also included Jelly Roll He's Morton, Blind He's Lemon He's Jefferson, Charlie Patton, and Gene He's Autry. Largely due to the popularity of Jefferson and contemporaries such as Blind Blake and Ma Rainey, Paramount became the premier blues record company in his 1920s.
