What does Iago think is the
way leadership positions are
traditionally determined?
a_sh-v [17]

Iago thinks that a person must have experiences in wars and battles with an additional experience in general knowledge as he himself got into the position on this basis while Cassio is simply a tactician and a scholar. Iago uses his leadership position to begin a raging campaign against Othello and Cassio.

Explanation:

 • Iago is a character developed by Shakespeare in the play "Othello". He is defined as a manipulative man who develops strategies and plans to destroy the lives of those who wronged him.
 • The rage starts when Iago becomes upset about not being promoted and seeks revenge on Othello (his head lieutenant) and Cassio the person who took his position.
 • Othello is defined as a confident leader in the play and a person who is very much needed by the government.
 • Iago feels that he is more qualified than Cassio for the position and that he was betrayed by Othello.
 • Iago was the third-ranking officer under Othello.

Natalka [10]

Answer:

1.Odysseus leaves his home tot fight the war in Troy. He came up with the idea fort eh Trojan horse which allowed the Greeks to win the war

2.He traveled to the Land of Cicones (Ismaros) for food and water. He ended up raiding the town for all its food, water and gold. Many men are lost.

3.They arrive on Island of Lotus Eaters. He sent a few of his men ahead and they hadn’t returned for hours. The food and drink of the island had nectar of the lotus in it which makes the men not want to go home. This wasn’t done maliciously and Odysseus and his men left.

4.They next dock on the Island of the Cyclops. There they set up camp in a cave and feast. That night, the cyclops, Polyphemus, enters and places a rock in front of the opening. He grabs up two men and eats them whole. He does this again in the morning. Odysseus comes up with a plan, gives the cyclops spiked wine, he falls asleep and Odysseus blinds the cyclops with an olive branch and he and his men hoist themselves to the bottom of the cyclopes sheep and ride out.

5.they next stop at Aeolia, the island of Aeolus the wind god. He gave Odysseus a bag of wind not to be opened until he got back home. His men became jealous thinking Odysseus was keeping gold for himself and opened it, making their journey longer.

6.They are swept back to Aeolia by the winds but aren’t met with the same kindness as the first time.

7.After the wind storm they reach the island of Laestrygonians( Telepylos). Three men go ahead and the Laestrygonian king eats one of them. They all run back to their ships but the Laestrygonians smashed 11 of them, they also eat more of the men. Odysseus orders the rest of the men onto one ship and they escape.

8.Odysseus and his surviving crew arrive on the island of Aeaea, home of Circe. She turns his men into pigs. Hermes warns Odysseus and gives him a magical flower that will protect him. Odysseus stays with Circe for a year. He leaves Aeaea, with Circe advising Odysseus it is essential that he visit Hades to talk to the prophet Tiresias before resuming his trip home.

9.Odysseus and his men journey to the Underworld, coming to the River Acheron. Odysseus speaks with Tiresias, and Tiresias cautions Odysseus on Helios' cattle and warns him about Scylla and Charybdis.

10.Odysseus and his crew return to Aeaea, to bury one of his shipmates (who had died in Aeaea). Circe warns him of the dangers of the Sirens, and Scylla and Charybdis.11. Odysseus and his crew manage to sail safely pass the Sirens without any losses. He put beeswax in his ears and had his men tie him to the mast to resist the sirens song.

11.Odysseus and his crew manage to sail safely pass the Sirens without any losses. He put beeswax in his ears and had his men tie him to the mast to resist the sirens song.

12. They sail into the Strait of Messina where Scylla and Charybdis reside. Odysseus chooses to sail close to Scylla rather than the whirlpool of Charybdis (Acylla takes 6 men, one for each head while Charybdis will take all the men and the ship) They throw a lamb onto the cliff adn Scylla ate that instead of the men.

13.Odysseus and his crew land on Thrinacia, home of Helios' sacred cattle. Though Odysseus had warned his crew not to eat Helios' cattle, they ended up eating some of the cattle while he was away. Helios was angered and asked Zeus to punish those who had eaten his cattle. Zeus brought about a great storm, completely destroying Odysseus' ship and killing all his men.

14.Odysseus, clinging to a piece of his destroyed vessel, was washed away at sea. He is swept past Scylla and Charybdis, again, and again manages to pass by safely and washes ashore on the island Ogygia, home to Calypso. Odysseus stays with her for seven years.

15.After staying with Calypso for seven years, Athena intervenes and asks Zeus to order Calypso to let Odysseus go. Odysseus built a boat and set sail once more. Poseidon, seeing Odysseus at sea, brings a violent storm down on Odysseus and his ship is destroyed. Odysseus washes up on the shore of Scheria, kingdom of Alcinous, king of the Phaeacians. King Alcinous, Queen Arete and their daughter Nausicaa are extremely hospitable to Odysseus; providing him with clothing, food and entertainment. King Alcinous offers Odysseus one of his ships so that Odysseus can finally return to his homeland and family.

16After twenty long and hard years, Odysseus returns at last to Ithaca.

How does the author develop the theme of shame and guilt in the story?
GarryVolchara [31]

Answer:

The author develops the theme of shame and guilt through the economic condition of Gregor's family.

Explanation:

Hello. You forgot to say that this question is about "Metamorphosis."

In "Metamorphosis" we are introduced to Gregor Sansa who one day wakes up transformed into a giant insect. Gregor cannot work in this state, as he can barely stand.

Gregor lives with his parents, his sister and his wife and is the only one who works, being the person responsible for the family's economy. However, when Gregor becomes an insect, he is no longer able to supply the family's economic needs, besides needing their constant help. In this scenario, the author develops the theme of shame, since Gregor feels a burden, and develops the theme of guilt, since Gregor feels guilty that the family is in need.

What is your definition of the American Dream?
Rainbow [258]
My definition of the American Dream is freedom, justice, equality, and more opportunities for a better life for everyone. Except I don’t think this is really true it all it’s just the idea of America. Although there is more freedom than many places it’s not fair at all. What you’re not told is you only really only have so many more opportunities when you’re white and in many cases a straight white male. Females are not treated the same way men are in many places. The lgbtq+ community isn’t treated the way they would be if they weren’t trans or homosexual. There’s illegal trafficking happening all over that isn’t stopped. African Americans aren’t treated the same as whites because racism is still taught to people, No matter how much people fight for equality and justice the American Dream just isn’t as great as you think it should be.
