What is true is that they were abused by their masters and sometimes the women would be raped by their master. They would live in constant fear. Would have to work in inhumane conditions, were treated very very poorly. They did not have a voice in anything they had to keep their head down and work for hour and hour and hours most of the time in fields. They were referred to as subhumans. They were treated worst than an animal.

What made the California Gold Rush such a significant time in early American history?
Brums [2.3K]

Answer:

The California Gold Rush was sparked by the discovery of gold nuggets in the Sacramento Valley in early 1848 and was arguably one of the most significant events to shape American history during the first half of the 19th century.

The Gold Rush significantly influenced the history of California and the United States. It created a lasting impact by propelling significant industrial and agricultural development and helped shape the course of California's development by spurring its economic growth and facilitating its transition to statehood

The gold rush also was a catastrophe to some. the peaceful people indigenous to the area were decimated and perished in great numbers from starvation, disease, abuse, and massacre. Their society, habitat, infrastructure and culture were destroyed. Lands and environments were destroyed because of floods of mud

On February 2, 1848, the Treaty of Guadelupe Hidalgo was signed, formally ending the war and handing control of California to the United States. Neither side knew that gold had recently been discovered at the sawmill Swiss immigrant John Sutter was building near Coloma.

                                                         Answer

__________________________________________________________

According to Quora,

The Plymouth colony is important because the American people have decided that it represents who they (Anglo-White-Americans) are as a nation.

__________________________________________________________

It wasn’t particularly significant otherwise.

__________________________________________________________

Was it the first colony?

Not remotely, there were plenty of other colonies all over the coast of America that came before it.

__________________________________________________________

Was it the most successful?

Not really. It was the first truly successful BRITISH colony, but there were lots of other far more successful colonies started in North America that has continued to this day.

__________________________________________________________

So… why such a big deal?

Well… I guess it is a number of contributing factors:

The Plymouth Colony was the first truly self-sufficient British colony. The British established the ‘Thirteen colonies’ who eventually declared their independence from Britain as the ‘United States of America’.

__________________________________________________________

It’s worth noting though that The United States of America at this point was only a small fraction of what we now know as the USA.

The 13 Colonies / USA effectively merged with (gained control of) the large French and Spanish territories, subsuming their settlements and people.

Despite the fact that the modern USA is made up of Spanish, French, British, African, and native colonists/settlers (as well as from every other nation on Earth), the white-British historical viewpoint and narrative are still dominant.

__________________________________________________________

Hope this helps! <3

How did industrialization change the work environment?
weeeeeb [17]
Industrialization moved to more impersonal compontents. The worker is seen as replaceable. If a worker got hurt, another worker would step in. Later more machines replaced the workers. Dirty conditions and poor lighting. Extreme hours, 14 -18 hours a day.
